Contests for August

Hey guys!

First off, thanks tons to everyone who vote on my poll! Over a hundred votes

I'm not sure what I expected, but the numbers were high for each category (I've left the poll up for you to see the results!)... soooo... August will be full of all three types of contests.

Starting at the basics, during this month you can expect at least two single book contests for these titles:
Ash by Malinda Lo (signed ARC)
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater (ARC)

I have also conjured up two or three prize packs, which two I have figured out so far:
Another Faust + poster
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick + angel necklace

So, onto the COMMENT CONTEST!
I really want to hold this contest for a few different reasons.

  1. I'm moving in November and need to get rid of some of my books!
  2. I have over 100 books from ALA that I need to READ
  3. Basically, I need to read a lot before my new job starts at the end of the month...
So here are the rules:

Rules!
  • 1 comment = 1 entry
  • Every comment counts EXCEPT on other contests I'll be running this month.
  • No more than two comments per post.
  • Comments should be more than just two or three words. Sentences are nice. :)
  • Comments start with this post!
  • You get +5 for spreading the word about this contest on your blog/twitter/etc. (leave me a link with your comment) No link = no extra points. I'd prefer you to post the links in the comments section of this post. Thanks.
  • Open to EVERYONE!
  • Ends Monday, August 31st at midnight CST.

Now, what are you going to win? I know, I'm holding you in suspense.

Since I'm not sure how many books I will finish (that aren't already planned contest items), I'm breaking it down like this. There will be 3 winners no matter what.

If I read 10 books:
1st place winner gets 5 books
2nd place winner gets 3 books
3rd place winner gets 1 book

If I read at least 15 books:
1st place winner gets 7 books
2nd place winner gets 4 books
3rd place winner gets 2 books

If I read at least 20 books:
1st place winner gets 10 books
2nd place winner gets 5 books
3rd place winner gets 3 books

Now, every time I post a review, I will let you know if that book is in for the contest or not (I do have one or two library books I may be reading).

  51. this is my birth month and as such i want books. lots of books. and what will i do with them when i finish? i think hospitals still have book carts, and that is where they will go. and if not there, a rehabilitation center. trust me, the biggest battle grounded people stuck in a rehab center is b o a r d u m!!! so let's celebrate my birth with my win and sharing with others.

    SO I posted on every single post of august 2 times, May I suggest that for next contest it's only 1 comment per post? I felt kinda stupid posting twice just for the sake of posting twice.
