Kristi over at The Story Siren is hosting a great contest for next year. What is the 2010 Debut Author Challenge?
- The objective is to read a set number of YA (Young Adult) or MG (Middle Grade) novels from debut authors published this year.* I'm going to challenge everyone to read at least 12 debut novels! I’m hoping to read at least 30! You don’t have to list your choices right away, but if you do feel free to change them throughout the year. I will also be focusing on mostly Young Adult novels.
- Anyone can join, you don’t need a blog to participate. If you don’t have a blog you can always share your views by posting a review on Amazon.com/BarnesandNoble.com/GoodReads/Shelfari, or any other bookish site.

So many books that sound so good! I especially want to read Sea and Brightly Woven.
This is a great challenge! One of the YA books of 2010 I can wait to read is Jekyl loves Hyde (or something like that!) by Beth ¿Fanstaskey? I'm useless with names!
the iron king sounds pretty good too, and I love its cover!
Nice list...many of them I'm just waiting for...very impatiently. :)
Ooo pretty list! I'm doing this one but I'm not going to make a list. :D
Great list! I see quite a few books on your list that I am looking forward to reading myself. I want to read Brightly Woven, Hex Hall, Bleeding violet, The mark, The Iron King, etc.
Those all look like great books! I'd participate in this challenge...but I don't buy books and my library doesn't get the new releases quick enough. Boo.
But goodluck in the challenge! :)
I'm taking part in this challenge too. You have some of the same ones I want to read. The others I'm going to have to look up for myself. You might want to also check out Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia it is coming out in May and it is her debut novel. Good luck with your list.
Nice book list, I'm going to be taking part in this challenge too.

I really want to do this challenge, just because I think I'll easily be able to accomplish any goals I set, but I need to figure out at least 10 books to read first.
Your list looks awesome and is giving me some great ideas. I already wanted to read some, but I'll be looking into some others.
Hey! Thanks so much for including Paranormalcy : )
I was debating joining this challenge. After seeing the list I'm thinking I should since a bunch of those books are on my to read list.

Wow--thanks for including my book on your list! Just so you know, my title has officially been changed from FE to THE REPLACEMENT (at least, in the US).

I'm going to do this challenge too =)
Isn't this challenge great? I can't believe how many debut YA/MG authors there are in 2010. I can't wait to get started. I have a few ARCs already so I guess I'm off to a good start :)
Great list! I want to read The Mark, too.
Great list. You've picked out some really interesting books. Good luck with your challenge.
I'm looking forward to reading Brightly Woven and FE too, although the last I heard FE is now called The Replacement.
This seems like a fun challenge! There are a few on your list that I can't wait to read myself. Especially Hex Hall, and Magic Under Glass!
Wow, you are really goin' all out ain't ya? lol. I'm doing this challenge as well but only like 15. Mainly because I want to get some of my older and non-YA books read next year. We have some of the same ones though. Great book choices! :D
