The Battle is ON!


As of late, I have been coercing with Kate from The Neverending Shelf on many many projects (Viva La Revolution!) and throughout our discussions we have figured out that though we are friends, we are still fairly competitive about stuff - like books we've gotten for review, having the most followers and hits and whatnot.

And this has lead us to the following ultimate competition. Now, we were planning on just having a fun little read-a-thon between the two of us (due to my four day weekend coming up) and decided to up the ante.

Yes, that's right. We're in a battle to see who can read the most pages between Friday morning (8 am CST) and Monday night (10 pm CST).

We have agreed to the following conditions:

* A winner will be determined between us based on the amount of pages read.

* A limit of 10 graphic novels / manga

* Page counts will be announced at 8 pm (CST) each day on our sidebars.

Now, why not keep this little competition a secret? Well, we want to get you, our followers, involved!

Oh, you don't want to choose sides? Well, it is a free world.. so just ignore the rest of this post.

What is in it for you?
If you choose correctly... you may be randomly selected to win a mystery box of books from one of Kate or my stacks! (Depending on who wins - yes, the winner will graciously give away some books!).

What do you need to do?
Just choose a side! Leave a comment on either Kate's or my post. You don't need to leave an email addy or anything, just keep an eye out Monday night or Tuesday morning when we tally up!

Please comment by Thursday night - midnight CST.

I'm not going to tell you who to vote for.. but I am a speed reader!!! Um yeah, not convinced? Well, your loss ;).

*I promise not to be offended if you all think Kate can outread me. :) Do some research and cast your vote in the comments!

  6. I love both of your blogs, but I'd have to say the one most likely to read more would be you - you do seem to 'speed read' some times. So, I love you Kate, but I'm on the red team. :)
